African safari Kenya ; Tsavo East National Park is a national park in Kenya with an area of 13,747 km². It was established in April 1948 and covers a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert. Together with the Tsavo West National Park, it forms an area of about 22,000 square kilometers
The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary(THWS) derives its name from the surrounding clusters of hills and is an integral part of the Eastern Arc forests classified as a biodiversity hotspot.
Before the establishment of THWS on Bura Block along Mwatate-Taveta Road, the land was used as a game hunting ground.
THWS was established in 1970 to make the area more attractive to wildlife and tourists, allow conservation, and promote wildlife viewing.
The sanctuary covers an area of 28,000 acres of mosaic habitat where the plant physiognomy is riverine forest, savanna wood and grassland. More than 50 species of large mammals and 300 species of birds have been recorded in THWS.
Day 1: Mombasa/Diani – Tsavo East – African safari Kenya
You will be Picked up from your hotel at 06:00am and drive to Tsavo East National Park. You will enter the park through Bachuma Gate then proceed with game drive until lunch time. Lunch at the lodge or Camp. After lunch you will have another game drive from 4:00pm until 6:00pm searching for Big game and the red elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and many other animals including the cat’s family.
Tsavo East National Park is located approximately 120 Km from Mombasa. You can view a variety of animals at the park, including elephant, lion, leopard, crocodile, water-buck, kudu, gerenuk, zebra and Aruba Hunter’s hartebeest. You will also see the large herds of red elephants- they glow red due to red dust of Tsavo. There are also about 500 species of birds, including the ostrich, and migratory birds like kestrels and buzzards. Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife lodge
Day 2. Tsavo East – Taita Hills – African safari Kenya
Early morning game drive at 6:30am followed by a breakfast at 8:00am. After breakfast drive to Taita Hills for Lunch. After lunch you will relax at Saltlick lodge until 4:00pm time for an afternoon game drive in Taita Hills Game sanctuary searching for
resident animals ranging from wild cats, the big five and numerous antelopes. Saltlick Game Lodge is built on stilts overlooking floodlit waterhole and saltlicks that are an attraction to many wild animals until 6:30pm.

Day.3 Taita Hills – Diani Beach – African safari Kenya
Early morning game drive at 6:30am until 8am then back to the lodge for breakfast after breakfast you will have game drive on route to the gate for park exit formalities then depart for Mombasa. Arrive at your hotel in the afternoon.
