6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing: Marangu route is one of the most popular route named “coca cola route” leading to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Many hikers believe that the Marangu route is the easiest route to the summit, since it is the only route which can be hiked in 5 days. It is also the only route offering accommodation on the mountain, in a frame huts.
Important to note is that Marangu route has one of the lowest summit success rates of all the routes up the mountain.
If you choose the Marangu route, we strongly recommend hiking the route over 6 days, this will increase your chance to reach the summit successfully. This is the only route, which provides comfortable communal sleeping huts, equipped with beds and mattresses at every overnight site. Mineral water, soft drinks beer are also sold in this points. The Marangu route utilizes the same route for the ascend and descend.
Big Five Sightings: Lions, elephants (notably red-dust-covered elephants), buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos.
Scenic Landscapes: From the open plains of Tsavo East to the rugged terrain and volcanic hills of Tsavo West.
Natural Attractions:
Mzima Springs – crystal-clear springs with hippos and crocodiles.
Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary – home to endangered black rhinos.

Day 1. Arrival in Moshi – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
Depart from your hotel/Airport in the morning and drive to the Boarder point of either Taveta or Namanga border. After immigration formalities change cars and drive to Moshi or Arusha if you are from Kenya. When you arrive by plane, we will pick you from the Airport and transfer you to a hotel in Moshi. Relax in the afternoon. This is the time you meet your climbing guide for briefing & final gear check. Dinner and overnight in your hotel.
Day 2. Mandara Hut – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
After breakfast ,drive 45 kms to Marangu gate [1,860 m ].Walk for 8 kms through dense semi – tropical rain forest to mandara Hut [2,744 m]. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 3. Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
Depart early in the morning for a 10 hrs walk up to Horombo hut [3,761 m]. The landscape become more rugged and rocky but superb, with mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4. Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
After breakfast ,proceed on a 6 hr walk through spectacular mountain vegetation to Kibo hut [4,732 m] .Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
The final attempt to the summit is made in the early hours of the morning at 0200 hrs .
It takes about 5 hours to the most difficult steep part of the route to Gilman’s point [5,681 m]. From Gilmans, it takes one and half hours to reach Uhuru peak [5,895 m ]. This is the highest point in africa branded with snow by nature. Take photo to identify your self with africa. Thereafter we begin our descend with a stop at Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Horombo to Moshi – 6-Days Kilimanjaro Climbing
Descend is rapid. After breakfast walk down to Marangu gate where celebrations awaits for you, you will be given certifacate of Climbing. your vehicle shall be waiting for you. Drive back to Moshi, or to the border for your trasfer to Mombasa or Nairobi.
